Chromebook Pixel released: Apple should redefine the MacBook

The main contents of this article are as follows:

Thank you, Google. My MacBook can be eliminated.

Question is: what is the MacBook missing two key hardware feature? My answer is: touch screen and 4G.

Coincidence is that Chromebook Pixel has both of these features. Google said that as far as the touch screen Apple notebooks do not have this feature.

Might some people will not agree with my point of view. They say the touch-screen is stupid feature, and a columnist, said that it was a pointless feature. As the mouse is a dumb idea.

But the problem is that Google had been aware of the importance of touch screens for notebook. Google on this issue and the idea of Microsoft the same (Windows 8 and Surface), this made Apple into a disadvantage.

Some people might say Chromebook Pixel more 4G than the MacBook, because Chromebook increased attention to cloud services. However, my Macbook also requires extensive use of cloud services, 4G this is a laptop with features.

What about operating systems? I think the hardware is better to attract consumers to experience a primary factor in the new operating environment.

Although progress Chrome OS remains to be seen (missing many critical features you need), with the success of Android, I think Chrome OS and the improved second-generation Chromebook Pixel to attract more consumers.

Alternative to Google Chrome browser to create UDP QUIC has become a Chromium core components

March 8th, 2013 No comments

Francois Beaufort found that Google has started to build a new network protocol known as QUIC, Chrome will support first QUIC and alternatives we use UDP (User Datagram Protocol) Protocol. From Wikipedia’s interpretation of UDP User Datagram Protocol:

User Datagram Protocol (User Datagram Protocol, UDP) is a datagram-oriented transport layer protocol of simple, formal specification for RFC 768.

In the TCP/IP model, the UDP network layer and application layer provided a simple interface. UDP provides unreliable delivery of data, once it sends data to the network layer to the application, you do not retain data backups (UDP is sometimes considered unreliable datagram protocol). Head of the UDP in the IP datagram just joined the multiplexing and data verification (field).

UDP header fields is made up of 4 parts, two of which are optional. 16bit the source port and destination port used to mark the sending and receiving application process. Because UDP does not need an answer, so the source port is optional, if a source port no, then reset to zero. In the port of destination followed by the length in bytes of fixed length field, specifies the UDP include the length of the data portion of the datagram, length minimum value of 8byte. First left 16bit is used for the header checksum and data section (Checksum), this part is optional, but in the real world are usually used this feature.

QUIC also seem to be focused on streaming, it also will increase the reliability of a built-in encryption layer and some of the basic controls. Google started the project at the end of last year, have been integrated into the Chrome browser a few days ago, has now become core components of Chromium.

Google has been trying to reshape the Internet core protocols in order to promote faster and more reliable, more secure Internet.

Google humor: Chromebook Pixel of the contra in egg

March 8th, 2013 No comments

Chromebook Pixel was officially released yesterday, and interesting is that Google has joined the Konami Code Easter egg in a product, which is commonly used by many years ago about about running up and down the contra BA cheat codes. This also isn’t the first time Google used this cheat codes, 2008 years Google Reader I’ve used this cheat codes trick.

After you open a notebook and type a string of characters, show LED lamp with a light show, and of course it as an Easter egg, on the PC without any help, is purely to provide after the good memories. Google did not make any observations on the egg.
