Controversies settled: Nokia to close Germany plant to pay local government $ 2 million
Nokia said on Saturday to address the closed factory disputes, has agreed to Germany North Rhine-Westphalia (North Rhine-Westphalia, hereinafter referred to as “beiweizhou”) even with interest repayment of EUR 1.3 million (about US $ 2 million) fee.
According Germany economic weekly WirtschaftsWoche reports, Germany Government Nokia’s Bochum factory have been offered 4 million euro development costs. Bochum factories closed, the Germany Government will have used these research results of Nokia.
In January this year, Nokia announced it would close its Bochum manufacturing factory in beiweizhou luergongyequ. at the same time, because of low labor costs, Nokia decided in Romania the construction of new plants. Nokia’s move would lead to 2,300 jobs, so was Germany harsh criticism of the Trade Union and political.
To resolve the dispute, Nokia has previously agreed to use 20 million euro as “Bochum Development Fund” for mobile phone and IT financing of enterprises in the region.
