Approximation of global sales of 55.5 million Sony PS3 Xbox 360
Sony PS3 sold worldwide to 55.5 million units, is gradually approaching 57.6 million shipments worldwide for Xbox 360.
According to Sony’s release of second quarter of fiscal year 2011 earnings (as at September 30), the PS3 sold 3.7 million for the quarter, compared to 3.5 million units increased by 200,000 units a year earlier. Microsoft Xbox 360 global shipments now 57.6 million units.
As at October this year, Nintendo Wii shipments to 89.36 million units, ranking first of the three hosts.
Is to be noted that, Sony called the “sales” is unclear is the actual number sold to consumers is the number of goods to retailers, Microsoft, Nintendo, indicating its number is shipments.
